MAAT WARNS AND INFORMS THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

MINISTRY OF INTERIOR FOLLOWS THE POLICY OF SLOW PHYSICAL LIQUIDATION OF THE INNOCENT DETAINEES

Maat Center presented a statement to the attorney general in which the Center calls upon him to use and activate his authorities to inspect and supervise continuously the unofficial detention camps and prisons after the prisons' authority administration returns to follow the policy of torturing the detainees , neglecting their health and banishing them to the farthest Egyptian jails , in spite of the fact that all of them have obtained judicial rules of release after they have been accused in issues ended without punishing the security men who are responsible for fabricating these issues ; such as the organization so-called " the victorious group" which was declared in last April, and such as putting others before trial due to issues such as El Azhar and Abdel Monem Riad explosions in April 2005.

   The Center has obtained lately a judicial decision to release Mohammed El Saied Mohammed , who is detained due to El Azhar explosions , among about 2500 other detainees who are still staying behind the bars of Damanhour General Prison . Yet, the Center was unable to execute the judicial decision issued for his benefit , after the State Security Body keeps it in its quarter in Shubra El Kheema , and then issued a new decision of detaining him . The period between keeping the decision of release and issuing another one against him is about two weeks , during which security men in the quarter enjoyed torturing the detainees and their women who are summoned from their homes , according to their own witnesses mentioned in the report of the mission which was sent by the Center to Shubra El Kheema by the beginning of the previous month of Ramadan to unveil the truth.

The stranger resolution of the Ministry of Interior, which resulted in initiating a new issue with the detainees' families, is banishing 22 persons before hours from Turah prison to Damanhour General Prison in an attempt to hide most of those who have obtained judgments of release from the judgment and the State Security Prosecution and who are members of the illusionary organization so-called " The Victorious Group" . Few months before , The State Security Prosecution issued judgments of their innocence and condemned the security men who declared that they have seized this organization and its members who were ready to carry out terrorist operations against Egyptian institutions and characters.

Among these people is Hany Ahmed Mansour, who is resident in El Minyawy street, El Zawyah El Hamra and who is infected with chronic chest allergy , while the prison's administration insists on neglecting his and many of his fellowmen's health, according to their families' witnesses. Such a case is repeated recently with a large number of the detainees who are treated severely in Damanhour prison ,and among them is Wael Hussein Ali Khalil ,who is included in the Center's statement to the attorney general.

Maat Center demand judicial and immediate interference to adjust the detainees' states in general as concerns ensuring the healthy care they deserve , putting an end to their banishment to jails far away from the residence of their families, applying the simplest judicial rules that ensures executing the right releases, ensuring the sovereignty of the State of Law through respecting and executing the judgment's rule issued for the benefit of the political detainees , ensuring good treatment and sound healthy care for them as the case with the criminal detainees , and ensuring that the detained students shall perform their exams and shall not de hindered as the timing of the first term exams becomes near in all universities .
