WHERE IS THE BROTHER OF THE MAIN ACCUSED PERSON IN EL AZHAR EXPLOSIONS?

Maat Center received a complaint from Mona Mohammed Saad, the wife of Adel Ahmed El Saied, the brother of the main accused person in El Azhar explosions in April2005, in which she asserted the disappearance of her husband who is detained few days before the arbitrary detention campaign that gathered more than 2500persons of the inhabitants of Shubra El Khemah due to the explosions. The husband also suffers from heart disease, his wife has not seen him since more than a whole year, and she does not know his place, in spite of the fact that her brother Esam Mohammed Saad was detained with him due to the same events and he is now staying in El Wady El Gadeede jail. His old-aged mother has been insulted when she went to visit him, as a continuation of the series of torturing the detainees and their families as a punishment because they called the judicial organizations and Mass Media and unveiled the ways of the Ministry of Interior and the Jails' authorities' administration in dealing with them and their families.

The Center described for the attorney general the case of Adel Ahmed El Saied, as an example of compulsory disappearance, calling upon him to interfere and activate his authorities and to disclose the place of the disappeared detained whose wife is afraid that he might be killed and buried without her knowledge, and this is the feeling that haunted the families of those who are deprived of their freedom and simplest rights as prisoners or detained.

The Center puts upon the shoulders of the attorney general, the Ministry of Interior and the Manager of the jails' authority the whole responsibility of the destiny of Adel Ahmed El Saied, demanding to accelerate in disclosing his place, enabling his family to visit him, and releasing him as he has obtained many judicial resolutions of release to secure his safety and his life that is threatened with dangerous diseases besides the effect of torturing on his health.

The Center as well expresses his sorrow at torturing the detainees and violating the rights of their families when they come to visit them in their far away jails. The Center always demands to end the suffering of the political prisoners, the criminals and the detainees by distributing them among the nearest jails of the residence of their families, which could not afford the hardships and costs of their traveling, as this was the complaint of the families of the detainees in general Damanhour and El Wady El Gaded Jail.
