Maat Center Observed Violations in The New Valley Jail which are: Solitary Confinement, Depriving of Visiting, Striking with Stick, Food Deprivation, Impure Water, And Prevention even From praying….

These words are the least to express the real condition in the New Valley's bad reputation jail.

This jail administration does not slacken to exercise all types of repression towards its detainees. They does not content with these detainees suffering because of their isolation away from their relatives and outer life without any reason. The only reason is a paper issued from an administrative body includes that their existence outside jails and detention camps is a danger threaten the public security, even if the judicial judgments confirmed that it is illegal to keep them detained, according to right and final judgment.

The case of the detainee Aadel Ahmed Al Saied is a clear example of the offensive violations inside walls of this jail while the supervision eye is absent.

The tragedy of this Youngman- who provides for a whole family and a young baby daughter called "Salsabil" while he does not exceed thirty five years old, started when the minister of interior detained him in 28\04\2003 at dawn, without clear reason to justify detaining an individual for all this period, to destroy a whole family's life, and to leave a child without sustainer.

After Aadel spent three months in the State Security headquarters in Shopra, where officers of this branch exercised many kinds of torture against him to confess committing a crime, he may did not do but to get rid of the torture calamities. Then he was send to some Egyptian jails, the first of which was Toraa jail, then he was send to Wady Al Nattone jail, then Daamnhore jail, and Al Marg jail in which he was deprived from visiting.

Lastly and since about eight months and because of sudden report he was transferred to the New Valley jail to start a new phase in his detention tragedy.

His relatives appeal for help because Aadel suffered many danger diseases because of his detention and torture, heart diseases…pectoral allergy …problems in kidney and liver because of the impure water…skin diseases …bones diseases…. The New Valley jail officers did not tack into consideration Aadel's health condition and strike him with a stick just because he asked them about the reason of his transference, and then they put him in solitary confinement for the last eight months until now, depriving him from food except crumbs that hardly keep body, and preventing him even to pray!

"He is in solitary confinement and deprived from visiting"…

This sentence is the summary of the jail's administration reply to the detainee relatives in the date of every visit.

Now, no one knows the end of Aadel, especially as his relatives' post letters do not reach him.

A detainee has heart diseases and pectoral allergy kept in solitary confinement in a narrow cell, not more than little meters, for eight months, who is the responsible of this?

Why one of these country young men kept in detention although there are many judgments issued to released him?

If the Ministry of Interior is not responsible of all these violations which done under its supervision, so who is the responsible? May be the Jail's Institution administrator? May be the judgment? On the other hand, may be us!

We all are responsible for the future of the baby Salsabil if the men of torture kill her father, while we do not object and judge the criminal!
